Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback about ALICE! We have been listening and working to build the best generative construction simulation solution. Here are the improvements that have been completed in January:
New features
- New Properties Manager: You can now access all your custom properties from one central location (Resources > Rates & Properties) where you can view how many elements use each property, edit its name, and even delete it.
- New In-product Release Notifications: Get ready for in-product notifications about new features and improvements! This marks the new era where ALICE users no longer have to perform research to learn about new features and improvements.
- Support as Chain: You can now create new supports by simply clicking on the elements in the order you want and using the new right-click > ‘support as chain’ feature. ALICE will remember the order you chose on click and assign supports in that order. Any possible support cycles will be detected and reported by ALICE to the user allowing them to cancel or move forward with overwriting the problematic supports.
- New Supports Navigation: The new Supports Navigation menu allows you to see both ‘previous’ and ‘next’ lists at the same time, as well as directly jump your selection to any element from the list by simply clicking on the ‘Select’ button. This will allow for much more efficient support checking and navigation.
Improvements
-
Filter by text custom property values: Removing the binning of textual custom properties now enables using the feature to quickly filter elements by their custom property values.
-
Copy in Progress label: When large projects are copied, the data transfer process may take a few minutes. To avoid any confusion, a label was added to the new copies indicating that the data transfer is still happening and preventing the user from accessing the project until the copy is completed.
-
Added bins to the Properties tab for UDF value ranges: When there are more than 20 unique numeric values for a custom property, the navigation tree will now group those values into four value range bins.
-
Ability to resize the selection tree component: If you are required to use long naming conventions in order to accurately describe elements in your scope of work, the selection tree component can now be resized via simple drag and drop in order to reveal those longer names.
-
Added borders to UI boxes on the Plan page: Borders were added to all UI components on the plan page in order to help the user visualize the limits of those boxes. This also works well for resizing the tree component.
