Create and Share a Project in ALICE Core

In this article, you will learn how to create a new project in ALICE Core, define project settings, and invite users to collaborate on your project.

Create a Project

  1. Click on the + New Project button in the upper right corner of the project list page.
  2. Select the Task-based (Gantt) option. A new project can be created by importing a P6 or MSP schedule or starting from scratch.
  3. To import from an existing file:
    1. Select import schedule and drag and drop your file into the upload area.
    2. Click Upload & Create Project

  4. To create a new project from scratch:
    1. Select start from scratch and follow the on-screen instructions to begin a project.

Share a Project with Users

  1. From the Project List, find the project that you want to share and click the Share button
  2. In the Add Collaborators box, enter the name of the individuals you wish to add. 
    • If you don't see the name of the person you wish to add, they do not yet have a user account set up. They must be invited to your account, click the link they receive via email, and set up their user account to appear on this drop-down.

  3. Select the project access rights (see below for details)
  4. Click Send. The user will receive an email notifying them that they now have access to the project.

Project Access Rights

  1. Viewer
    • Can access the explore and analyze page, but cannot view or edit the plan page.
    • Cannot add or remove users from the project
    • Recommended for stakeholders who want to see project information.
  2. Editor
    • Can access and edit the plan, explore, and analyze pages.
    • Cannot add or remove users from the project
    • Recommended for users who are participating in the planning process
  3. Admin

    • Can access and edit the plan, explore, and analyze pages.
    • Can add or remove users from the project, and change the access levels of other users on the project.
    • Recommended for the user responsible for ALICE on this project.
