P6 Interoperability Improvements
We have released several updates to task fields that can be found in the Gantt view to improve interoperability with P6. All fields below are present on both the Plan page and the Analyze page.
Updates to Existing Field Names
- Remaining Duration:
- Previously called 'Planned duration', renamed to better match P6 field names.
- Editable field to designate the task duration. Data can be static (i.e “40”) or parametric (formula-driven).
- Not currently editable for in-progress tasks, only for not started.
Newly Added Fields:
- Original Duration:
- For not started tasks, original duration equals remaining duration. If the user edits the remaining duration, this value will be re-calculated upon rescheduling.
- For in progress tasks, Alice does not change the value imported from P6. If the user edits the remaining duration, this field does not change.
- At Completion Duration:
- This field is always calculated as Actual duration + Remaining duration regardless of task status
- Actual labor units:
- Imported from P6, does not change in ALICE
- Remaining labor units:
- Imported from P6, does not change in ALICE
Additional Plan Page Enhancements
- Bulk selection in the plan page is now available for grouped views other than the WBS view (ie custom sort or crews). This is to make it easier to bulk select tasks for crew assignment or removal of preferential logic.
- The Gantt chart can now be sorted by task name by going to the 'group by' dropdown, selecting 'sorted list by' and selecting names.
- In the filter tool, the search window now returns results not just for field names, but for the values of those fields (for example, if you have a custom property called "Discipline" and one possible value for the discipline field is "GC" you can now type in GC and it will appear in the results)
