Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback about ALICE! We have been listening and working to build the best generative construction simulation solution. Here are the improvements that have been completed in July:
New Features
-
Add UDF Options to P6 XML Export: You can include ALICE UDF's in your P6 XML export! You have the option to keep them as UDF's (enterprise parameters) or convert them to 'Activity Codes' (project parameters) which is useful for companies who do not want ALICE to interfere with their enterprise parameters. We currently only support numeric values, but text fields are coming soon.
-
CSV Task IDs Match P6 Task ID's: Previously, the same task may have a different Task ID when reviewing the CSV export than when looking at the P6 XML. In order to enable smoother data exchange, the ID's are now consistent across both exports.

- UI for P6 XML Export: You can now customize your P6 XML export. Customizations include the ability to include/exclude Milestones, Active Drivers, and Resources as activity codes, and more options will be added soon (UDFs, Resource Loading, Costs)!
-
Ability to Export Recipe Matrix: You can now selectively export recipes from multiple different projects and store them in your company’s database and/or combine and import them to newer projects.
- Define Crew Size in Resources Pool: This is the first out of many upcoming new features related to workforce (labor-power) management. You can now define the size of each crew in terms of the number of people, as well as choose between defining the hourly rate by the crew or by a person!
-
New Data in CSV export: The Schedule CSV export is now enriched with new data including UDFs, Costs (with breakdowns), Cranes, Rates, Subcontractors, and Trades.
Improvements
- Add Used & Peak Columns for Equipment and Material in Compare Schedules: You can now see the actual amount of equipment used as well as the peak material consumption right from the compare schedules modal, without having to go to the Analytics page and filter the graphs.
-
Used Column for Cranes in Compare Schedules: In the Compare Schedules pop-up, you can now see the differences in actually crane usage rather than just availability. This will also soon be expanded to support Equipment Utilization and Peak Material Usage.
-
Crane Costs in Curve and Tooltip: Crane costs are now included as part of equipment in the cost curve, tooltip, and CSV exports.
-
Improved Hover-over Tooltip for Utilization Graphs: Now, the cost-over-time tooltip is improved and was applied to all the other tooltips for all the graphs on the Analytics page.
-
Import Recipes Shouldn't Duplicate Calendars: Previously importing recipes from a matrix would create a new calendar for every new crew. To make things easier for the user, when importing a new recipe matrix, all new crews will now be using the 'Default Calendar' by default.
-
Allow Use of Parameters in Non-duration Formulas for Recipe Matrix: Formulas including custom parameters were previously not allowed in the recipe matrix in non-duration fields. This is now improved and all quantity fields now support formulas with custom parameters.
-
Include Crane Costs in Cost-over-time CSV: Crane Costs, also broken down into direct, idle, and total, are now included in the Cost-over-time CSV!
