Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback about ALICE! We have been listening and working to build the best generative construction simulation solution. Here are the improvements that have been completed in September:
New features
- Calendar Overrides for Tasks: Say a crew is only allowed to work overtime on concrete pours and nothing else… or maybe they can work night shifts on activities that require lane closures but not others… you can now finally set calendar overrides in ALICE for specific operations that replace the regular calendar that the crew follows for others!
- Import BIM Parameters: You can now import any custom parameter from your BIM model as an ALICE UDF, anytime, without having to re-upload the model. You can select with what parameters to import as well as which elements to host those parameters in. These parameters can then be used in recipes, for auto-grouping purposes, and even for creating custom WBS's in schedule exports.
- Require Continuity of Operations: You can now specify in ALICE if some operations (such as pours) have to be continuous (e.g. cannot be stopped and resumed the next day). This allows users to get more accurate simulations from ALICE. The yellow warning in the Recipe will indicate potential infeasibility due to a miscalculated continuity.
Improvements
-
Improve Auto-group for Navisworks models: Using the auto-group functionality with Navisworks models that contain multiple NWC files was resulting in the NWC file name getting picked up as the element “family”. This is now improved so that the correct family is detected and used even when multiple NWC files are appended to the same NWD.
-
Add Date Created for Solution Sets: You can now see the “date created” for all simulation runs in your projects. Which will allow you to get an idea of how relevant old simulation results are to your project today.
