Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback about ALICE! We have been listening and working to build the best generative construction simulation solution. Here are the improvements that have been completed in September:
New features
- New Export functionalities in Manage: Lookahead Plan & 4D Flipbook
-
- Lookahead Plan to Excel: You can export a 3-week lookahead plan to excel straight from the Manage page. The lookahead plan will show you the activities that will be worked on during that window, the responsible subcontractor/crew for each activity, the number of crews needed for each activity, as well as the non-working days for each activity. This will help communicate ALICE schedules with field personnel in a more digestible format that they are familiar with.
-
- 4D Weekly Work Plan Flipbook export: This allows the user to export a 4D flipbook that visually communicates the work that needs to be done day-by-day for the next week. The tasks are listed with their dates and color-coded by the crew so that they can be cross-referenced with the accompanying 3D image of the project side.
- New Analytics in Manage:
- Project Overview Component: This new component added to the Manage Analytics page summarizes 5 key project performance metrics: Days elapsed, number of completed tasks and in-progress tasks, the number of late starts, and the number of tasks that took longer than planned.
- Benefits: This allows project managers to get live insights on how the project is performing on the tasks that have been executed so far, and enable early detection of issues that would normally surface weeks after they have occurred.

-
- Project Timeline Component in Manage Analytics: This one visually represents where the current data date falls with respect to the start and current completion date of the project, as well as the originally planned completion date and the one from the previous update cycle.
- Benefits: This allows project managers to get a quick and early visual overview: how the current completion date varies from the originally planned date, how much time is available to mitigate and possibly recover any delays, as well whether or not their strategies are being effective from one update cycle to the next. Lastly, it provides project controls with feedback on recovery strategies as they are implemented and a chance to adjust them if needed.

- Milestone Analysis Component: This shows you the current performance in terms of milestone dates against the original plan as well as the previous Manage cycle.
- Benefits: Being able to quickly compare every milestone in the current schedule to the original plan allows project managers and project controls managers to get a better understanding of how the project is performing, what recovery strategies need to be implemented, and what to communicate to the owner (or owner representatives). Being able to compare these same milestones against the previous Manage cycle allows the project team to assess the effectiveness of the recovery strategies that were implemented in the previous cycle.

Improvements
- Milestone Constraints included in P6 export: Deadlines and delivery date constraints are now included in the P6 export.
- Benefits: This facilitates the integrations and/or handoffs between ALICE and P6 so that work is not lost or repeated when taking the ALICE results in P6 for reporting and contractual requirements.
- Manage quick access button from dashboard: You can now access the Manage page for any of your managed projects straight from the project dashboard with one click.
- Benefits: This saves users from having to go through multiple pages (identify correct version > select plan > go to explore page > select manage dot > click Manage) before they get to performance tracking.
- Error checking for duplicate assignments on Recipe upload: Duplicate material/equipment assignments coming from recipe uploads are now automatically detected and flagged so that the user can make corrections.
-
- Benefits: Early plan error detection means that users won’t have to go so far along the planning process before they realize there is an error that they can’t seem to track anymore.
